Afrovenator

For the last 6 months or so I have had great difficulty drawing anything. I sit down with a clean sheet of A4 paper, hold my pencil completely filled with lead, surround myself with reference materials, but nothing comes out. I keep thinking and thinking about what to draw or how to draw it, even though I have the complete scene or animal pictured in my head. After a while and a few tries, I just give up: it just doesn't want to come out..again. It has gotten so bad that over the last month I don't even want to try anymore, even though I desperately want too. Just the thought of making a drawing again, and fail, again, causes so much anxiety

I have been asked a few times already why I chose to name my DA account after some unexiting African theropod dinosaur. There are a few reasons actually. The main reason is that it was the subject of my first life restoration of a dinosaur that I was sufficiently happy with that could be uploaded on the Dinosauricon. I am very critical of my own work, and have been increasingly so over the last years, but this was at the time my "masterpiece". Unfortunately, its not uploaded here yet, but I will do so over the weekend. :) Second, the name has a nice "ring" to it. I think it was Mickey Mortimer who said that this is typical of Sereno's dinos
